Hi8823 is more than a betting platform – we're a community of online gaming enthusiasts who believe in a safe, fair and enjoyable experience. From EPL football to the latest slots, everything we build puts Malaysian players first.
Hi8823 started with a straightforward goal — build an online betting platform that truly understands the needs and preferences of Malaysian players. Not simply copy a foreign platform's design and slap a Malaysian name on it. We wanted something genuinely from Malaysia and built for Malaysia.
Since launching in 2018, hi8823 has grown from a small platform into one of the most active online betting destinations among Malaysian players. We have over 500,000 registered members, with hundreds of thousands of bets processed every week across football, Live Casino, slots, lottery and e-sports.
What sets hi8823 apart? We're not a foreign company trying to break into Malaysia – we understand that players here want to bet on the Malaysia Super League, cheer on Lee Zii Jia at the BWF, spin slots with local themes, and deposit via Touch 'n Go without the hassle. All of that is right here at hi8823.

If you've ever wondered why so many Malaysian players stick with hi8823 over other platforms, the answer isn't simply the biggest bonuses or the widest game selection — though we have both. It comes down to the feeling that hi8823 genuinely understands what Malaysian players want. And that's not just a tagline. It's the result of years of listening, adapting, and rebuilding based on real feedback from our members.
Hi8823 was founded in 2018 by a group of individuals with backgrounds in technology, finance, and the gaming industry. They saw a clear gap in the Malaysian market — many local players were actively betting, yet the platforms available at the time were mostly built for European or general Southeast Asian markets, with no specific focus on Malaysia. Interfaces weren't in Bahasa Melayu, payment methods didn't include DuitNow or Touch 'n Go, and sports content didn't feature the Malaysia Super League. That was the starting point for hi8823.
Over seven years of operation, hi8823 has gone through several key growth phases. The first was about building trust – ensuring that every member who registered, deposited and won could withdraw their winnings easily and quickly. That may sound like a basic expectation, but in this industry, payment reliability is an extremely serious issue. hi8823 chose to establish this reputation before expanding into new products. The results speak for themselves – hi8823's active player retention rate is among the highest in the industry.
The second phase was about breadth – adding more game categories to cater to every preference. Sports Betting was introduced in 2019 and has remained one of the most active sections, driven by Malaysians' passion for football and badminton. When e-sports began to explode in Malaysia around 2020–2021 with the rise of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang through MPL Malaysia, hi8823 responded quickly by launching a comprehensive e-sports market. We didn't wait for e-sports to go mainstream – we moved early because we understood Malaysia's young gaming community.
The third phase, which is ongoing today, is about refining the user experience — not just adding features, but making sure every existing feature works flawlessly, quickly, and intuitively. This includes optimising our mobile platform used by over 70% of members for daily access, improving the live betting system to update odds in real time, and integrating new payment methods such as ShopeePay and Boost in line with e-wallet usage trends in Malaysia.
One area hi8823 takes very seriously is responsible gaming. We believe a healthy betting industry requires safeguards for players who may struggle with control. That's why hi8823 provides a range of self-management tools – daily and weekly deposit limits, loss limits, session time reminders, and self-exclusion options that any member can activate at any time. We also provide information and links to professional support resources for those who need them. This goes beyond regulatory compliance – it's a responsibility we take seriously as a platform trusted by hundreds of thousands of Malaysian players.
On the technical side, hi8823 runs on a stable server infrastructure with near-zero downtime. In the world of live betting and Live Casino, even a brief interruption can cost players real money — and we understand how critical platform stability is. Our systems are continuously tested and updated to ensure a smooth experience whether you're playing from Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, or rural areas with more limited internet access.
Looking ahead, hi8823 will continue to grow in line with what Malaysian players need. New games will be added, odds will keep improving, and the user experience will be continually refined. But one thing that will never change is our core commitment – hi8823 exists for Malaysian players, was built for Malaysian players, and will keep growing by putting the needs and trust of Malaysian players first.
